As part of the observance of their 100th anniversary, members of the Attakapas Study Club planted a tulip tree in the median of the 100 block of East Hutchinson Avenue Monday morning. A celebration of the anniversary will be held Wednesday, March 13, at First National Bank. On hand for the dedication of the tree were, from left, Alderman Brad Core, Ann Mire, Josie Millet, Katie Chaisson, Elizabeth Regan, Barbara Lengefeld, Roy Lynn Trahan, Peggy Ancelet, Carol Trahan (with the Crowley Garden Club), Alderwoman Sandra Marx, Belinda Morse, Christie Brammer (with the Crowley Garden Club) and Sandra Pruitt (a member of both clubs).
Attakapas Study Club celebrates 100th birthday
On March 12, 1924, nearly 30 Crowley women met on the seventh floor of the First National Bank building to organize the Attakapas Chapter of the Delphians — a national women’s group.
