The sixth-grade class at Northside Christian School enjoyed a guided tour of Historic Downtown Crowley on Wednesday. As a special treat for the students — and the tour guides — members of Acadia Post 15 and Auxiliary Unit 15 provided “brown bag lunches” consisting of barbecued hamburgers, chips and a soft drink / water for the group at the American Legion Hall.

Thursday, May 5, has been proclaimed as a “Day of Prayer” in the City of Crowley with observance to be held at the International Rice Festival Building beginning at 6 p.m. On hand for the sigining of the official proclamation at City Hall recently were, from left, Ezora Proctor, Christie Brammer, Brooke Thompson, Peggy Sandidge, chair; Mayor Tim Monceaux, Stephanie Romero and Norma Washington.
