City, law enforcement and school personnel gathered earlier this week at City Hall to witness the signing of a proclamation designating September as “Attendance Awareness Month” in Crowley. Through the proclamation, the mayor and council “commit to focusing on reducing chronic absenteeism to give all children an equitable opportunity to learn, grow and thrive academically, emotionally and socially.

Christie Dunn, CPA with the Lafayette firm of Wright, Moore, Dehart, Dupuis and Hutchinson, told members of the city council’s Revenue and Finance Committee Wednesday night that the audit of fiscal year 2021 - 2022 has been complete and that she is now working on the 2022 - 2023 year, which ended Aug. 31.

Audit findings released

CROWLEY – Council members and the public have been hearing it since January, “We’re waiting for the good audit numbers.”

RAYNE - At approximately 9 p.m. the evening of Thursday, Sept. 7, members of the Rayne Police Department received a call of shots being fired in the 1000 block of East Jefferson Davis Avenue.
