Louisiana Office of Tourism promotes international visitation during Travel South USA International Showcase
The Louisiana Office of Tourism (LOT) is attending the 8th annual Travel South USA International Showcase in St. Louis, Missouri, from Dec. 2-5.
This conference connects buyers from over 20 countries for a four-day meeting in the South with the goal of growing international visitation and market share in the region. Also attending the showcase are nearly 50 Louisiana partners, including 14 convention and visitors bureaus.
“The Travel South International Showcase is an important opportunity for us to reach out to international markets and encourage them to come to Louisiana for one-of-a-kind experiences that will Feed Your Soul,” said Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser. “International travel to Louisiana is a huge part of our success and efforts like this will help us to continue our growth in visitation year over year.”
This regional, appointment-style marketplace offers a targeted opportunity for buyers to meet face-to-face with Southern Suppliers. In 2018, over 8,000 one-on-one meetings were held.
“We look forward to this event each year. By sharing information and updates about the state we are able to help tour operators create unforgettable experiences in Louisiana for their clients, which in turn helps them to book more travelers,” said Assistant Secretary Doug Bourgeois.
Travel South USA is America’s oldest and largest regional travel promotion organization. The long-standing regional collaboration of the state tourism offices of Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia provides a foundation to positively position tourism as a vital and dynamic element in the region’s economic development.
In 2020, Louisiana will again welcome the world as New Orleans plays host to the annual Travel South International Showcase from December 6-9, 2020.
