Sheriff: ATVs are not to be operated on roadways

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office is receiving an abundance of calls regarding four-wheelers and side-by-sides being operated on roadways in our parish. Numerous complaints are being reported in the northeast and northwest portions of Acadia parish however this is a parish wide issue. Since they are often being operated by teenagers we want to make parents aware that deputies have been instructed to cite these vehicles.
Before someone is injured or causes a wreck, please assist us in keeping our roadways safe and refrain from using these vehicles on parish roads or highways.
