Sheriff’s department has more arrests for jail contraband
The ongoing investigation into the introduction of contraband into the parish jail has resulted in the arrest of another person, according to Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson.
Also, an arrest warrant has been issued for another suspect in connection with the investigation, the sheriff added.
Arrested was Brittany Driskill, 29, of Eunice, who was booked for principle to introduction of contraband into a penal facility.
An arrest warrant charging introduction of contraband into a penile institution has been issued for Shamyra Gray, 25, of Crowley.
A former Acadia Parish deputy, 45-year-old Regina Senegal, was arrested and charged on Dec. 7 after she allegedly brought a cell phone, tobacco products, and other contraband into the parish jail and provided them to inmates.
“Our investigators have furthered their investigation into the arrest of a former deputy’s involvement of bringing contraband into the parish jail,” Gibson said. “I take this matter very serious, especially when we had a deputy involved.”
An inmate, Traylon Lewis, has been charged with three counts of possession of contraband in a penile institution
