Argument turns violent; one injured, one booked

A Saturday morning argument between roommates led to one person being hospitalized and the other incarcerated.
The incident happened just after 8 a.m. in the 2300 block of South Highway 13.
The investigation revealed that two male roommates were involved in an argument. During the argument, one of the subjects, identified as Joseph A Simon, 47, of Kaplan, armed himself with a large knife.
The victim received multiple stab wounds and was transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery to repair the damage to his back and arm ares.
Deputies arrested Simon on one count of attempted second-degree murder. He has been booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.
