Murphy Jean Mire

RAYNE - A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Murphy Jean Mire, 88, of Carencro, was celebrated on Monday, Oct. 23, at 1 p.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rayne.
Interment followed in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery No. 2 in Rayne.
Visitation began on Sunday, Oct. 22, from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home, with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. Visitation continued on Monday from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home.
Mr. Mire passed away on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, in his Carencro residence.
Mr. Mire honorably served in the U.S. Army. He worked for many years in the oilfield.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Gail Duhon of Carencro; sons, Gary Mire and wife Theresa of Broussard, and Gerald Mire of Houston, Texas; daughter, Sondra Markel and husband Jeff of Houston; five grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Preceding Mr. Mire in death were his parents, Ovignac and Theresa Trahan Mire; and daughters, Ramona Mire and Glenda Young.
