Gus Joseph LeJeune
Private services will be held for Gus Joseph LeJeune, 83, who passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2025, at Ochsner Lafayette General Hospital.
He was born on Jan. 22, 1942, in Crowley and resided in Egan.
Gus graduated from Iota High School and was a welder by trade. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, and painting various pieces of artwork. He often sang lullabies in Cajun French to his grandchildren.
Gus spent many mornings at the Egan Food Store drinking coffee and spending time with his friends.
Gus is survived by two daughters, Kristine de la Houssaye of Egan, and Colene Barbin of Lake Charles; one sister Gladys LaCombe of Egan; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Mila Robichaux of Lake Charles, Tyler Scott Robichaux and Renee Spell of Crowley, Madeline Elise Barbin of Austin, Texas, Olivia Barbin Smith and husband Craig of Shreveport, and Benton Cason de la Houssaye IV of Denver, Colorado; and five great-grandchildren, Eli Joseph Babineaux, Jon David Heldt, James Henri Heldt, Payton Spell and Parker Spell.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Mable Hoffpauir LeJeune; his parents, Francis and Louise Latiolais LeJeune; and three siblings, Leroy LeJeune, Mary Ann Richardson and Lillie Mae Hebert.
