Carlton Dale Fontenot

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Carlton Dale Fontenot, 81, who passed away at his home Jan. 3, 2022, in Lafayette.
Rev. Wally Helfinstine will be officiating for the services.
The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Friday from 10:30 a.m. to the time of service at 2 p.m.
Interment will be in Indian Bayou Cemetery.
Dale loved God, his family, and his cars. He had a way with connecting with people because he was a selfless person. His best traits were being dependable, devoted, and loving to all he encountered.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Sarver Fontenot of Lafayette; two daughters, Vicki Fontenot Hood and husband Bob of Frisco, Texas, and Melanie Fontenot Porter and husband Gregory of Lafayette; one sister, Wynola “Penny” Plotts and husband Phil of Lake Charles; and four grandchildren, Alex Porter, Brooke Porter, Peyton Hood and Jenna Hood.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Gladys Morgan Fontenot; and one sister, Janella Jo Wright.
