Betty Ann Mixon Faulk
CROWLEY - A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday Dec. 17, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Betty Ann Mixon Faulk, 88, who passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Lafayette.
Father Mark Miley, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, officiated for the services.
Visitation was held Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a rosary being led by St. Michael’s Rosary Group at 6 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home. Additional visiting hours were held Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Interment was in Woodlawn Mausoleum.
Betty was born July 15, 1936, in Anahuac, Texas, and resided in Crowley. She was a graduate of Crowley High School in 1954 and also S.L.I. in 1957 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education.
After college she married her high school sweetheart, Wayne Faulk. She began her career as a physical education teacher and retired as an administrator of Adult Education in Acadia Parish.
Betty enjoyed sports and coached girls basketball at St. Michael School and softball during the summers. Sewing, crossword puzzles, Sudoku and jigsaw puzzles were some of her favorite pastimes. Her best memories were vacationing in Arkansas and Fausse Point with her family.
She is survived by her three daughters, Paula F. Hart and husband Tom of Lafayette, Carole F. Stonaker and husband Cliff of Magnolia, Texas, and Karen F. Bearb and husband Clarence of Lafayette; 10 grandchildren, Eric Hart and wife Jance, Kelly Eades and husband Jason, Jennifer Stonaker and husband Austin Kropp, Michael Stonaker and wife Amy, Paul Stonaker and wife Amy, Joshua Carriere and wife Shelby, Joey Bearb and wife Hailey, Annie Bearb, Devin Bearb, and Bryce Bearb; 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne C. Faulk; her parents, Arthur and Elizabeth Coles Mixon; and one brother, Arthur M. Mixon Jr.
Pallbearers were her grandsons and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale Assisted Living especially, Clare Bridge for their devoted attention over the past four years
Arrangements have been entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley.
