Hosts and special guests gathered around the new city marker unveiled Saturday, April 11, for the Bunche Library of Rayne following the ribbon ceremony for the official announcement of the historic structure named on the National Register of Historic Places. The Rayne site is recognized as the oldest known Ralph Bunche Library in the entire United States.
