Norman Francis Faulk
Rayne - Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 12, at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Norman Francis Faulk, 93, who passed away peacefully Sunday, June 8, 2025, at his Rayne residence surrounded by family.
Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Mausoleum in Rayne.
Very Rev. Brent L. Smith, VF, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will be the celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
After graduating from Southwest Louisiana Institute in Lafayette, Norman served as City Clerk for the Town of Rayne, General Manager with Evangeline Downs, and later as General Manager of La Mesa Park in Raton, New Mexico. He also operated a thoroughbred brood farm in Mire for several years.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 7411 in Mire, American Legion Post 77 in Rayne, VFW Post 6720 in Crowley and served as Senior Vice Commander for Post 6720.
He served in the United States Army from June 1950 to June 1953, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a Korean War Veteran, and was awarded combat infantryman Badge, Bronze Stars Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and Korean Presidential Citation.
Survivors include his three sons, Fred Faulk (Wendy), Steve Faulk (Natalie) and Scott Faulk (Brandy); 11 grandchildren, Barry Faulk, Lauren Buettner, James Faulk, Jonah Faulk, Emily Faulk, Taylor Halsch, D.J. Faulk, Michael Faulk, Tyler Faulk, Aaron Faulk and Toby Faulk; three step-grandchildren, Michelle Dew, Taylor Dew and Cheyenne Stegner; 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Selma Faulk Blanchard and Evelyn Faulk Siewert (Bob); one sister-in-law, Beverly Debetaz Faulk; and one bother-in-law, Jeff Morris.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Nettie Mae Chiasson Faulk; two sons, Gerald John Faulk and Frank Joseph Faulk; parents, Fernest J. Faulk and Florence Chappuis Faulk; two brothers, Stanley R. Faulk (Joyce) and Kenneth Faulk; one sister, Sylvia Faulk Morris; one sister-in-law, Theodora Heinen Faulk; and one brother-in-law, Hubert Blanchard.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne on Thursday, June 12, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
