John Lawrence Schultz

MOWATA - A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata for John Lawrence Schultz, 88, who passed away Friday, May 9, 2025, at Ochsner Acadia General Hospital.
Father Eric Groner, pastor of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, officiated for the services. The family had requested visiting hours be held Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata. A rosary was recited at 9:30 a.m.
Interment was in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Cora Lee Schultz of Branch; two children, Brian Schultz and his wife Carol of Branch, and Donna Schultz McKnight of Branch; three grandchildren, Brandt Schultz of Youngsville, Britney McKnight and her husband Marvin Daniels of Horsham, Pennslyvania, and Brennan McKnight of Branch; and one great-grandchild, Wes Lawrence Schultz.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Gesina Cramer Schultz; two brothers, Gerald and Leroy Schultz; one grandchild, Haven Schultz; and one great-grandchild, Ahni Schultz.
Arrangements were entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley.
