Lawrence served in the U.S. Air Force for four years at Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, New Mexico. After his service he managed vegetable growth in a greenhouse before working as a janitorial supervisor for over 20 years before retiring. Much of that time was spent at the First National Bank Towers in Lafayette, where his dedicated work ethic and kindness earned him many friends who helped him through his life.
When he wasn’t working, which wasn’t often, he enjoyed Natural Lite beer and lighting his fire pit, which he could sit and watch for hours, even during the hottest months of the year.
He loved taking his boat fishing with his friends Carlos Hollier, Wayne Huddleston and John Bryant or sometimes his grandchildren. He loved raising farm animals and gardening and often proclaimed how blessed he was in his life.
Pallbearers for the services will be Gregory Broussard, Skylar Navarre, Trevor Navarre, Tony Navarre, Derek Theriot and Trey Dupont.
The family would like to thank Lourdes Home Health and Heart of Hospice for their kindness and help during Lawrence’s last days, they were a blessing.
