Kyle Jeffery Hensgens
CROWLEY - A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Kyle Jeffery Hensgens, 44, who passed away Dec. 3, 2024, in Crowley.
Father Andrew Schumacher, pastor of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Mermentau, officiated for the services with Father Marshall Boulet concelebrating.
Visitation was held Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley. A rosary was recited at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Interment was in St. Lawrence Cemetery in Mowata.
Kyle was born on Sept. 26, 1980, in Crowley. He was a graduate of Notre Dame Catholic High School in 1999 and earned a bachelor’s degree from McNeese State University. After college he began his career as an Acadia Parish rice and crawfish farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Anderson Hensgens of Crowley; their two sons, Hunter Anderson Hensgens, and Andrew Douglas Hensgens; his parents, Dale and Tina Baham Hensgens of Mowata; his brother, Jake Hensgens and wife Jessica of Crowley; his two nieces, Ellie and Aubrey Hensgens; his in-laws, Mike and Vicki Anderson of Lafayette; and also many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Kyle is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Henry and Dorothy Baham; and his paternal grandparents, Nicholas and Doris Hensgens.
Pallbearers were Nick Vidrine, Christian Hensgens, Gregory Hensgens, Hans Hensgens, Michael Hensgens, Cody Gielen and Gregory Harmon.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Catholic School in Crowley.
Arrangements were entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley.
