Ida Fontenot Schexnayder

CROWLEY - Ida Fontenot Schexnayder was born on July 6, 1933, in Elton to Marie Chapman and Ernest Fontenot. She parted from the earthly life on Aug. 21, 2024. She was 91 years old.
She was a loving mother, sister, grandma, great-grandma, and great-great-grandma. She loved her family and spending time with them was all she ever needed — from raising not only her own boys, but also raising a grandchild, great-grandchild and nephew.
Those that knew her LOVED her! She was one who told you like it was, and loved you unconditionally all the while. We couldn’t have asked for a better mom, grandma, or sister. In her eyes her children and grandchildren could never do wrong.
She will be missed but we know her legacy and love will live on in our hearts, and all who loved her.
She leaves behind her whole world, her precious and loving son, Laris Joseph Nolan Jr. and wife Linda of LaPorte, Texas, and a daughter she helped raise, Frances Gail Hanks and husband Alfred of Crowley; one sister, Thelma Landry and late husband Tom of Crowley.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Joseph Gauthreaux and wife Spencer of Pineville, Aviera Nolan LeBouef and husband Dwayne of Crowley, Ryan Gautreaux and wife Toni of Baytown, Texas, Jesica Salazar and husband Chris of Baytown, Texas, Victoria Thompson of Crowley, Pamela Hanks of Crowley, and Taylor Foreman of Crowley; great-grandchildren, Trey Nolan, Antonio Muniz, Ryan Gautreaux Jr, Michael Toups, Savannah Toups, Lexi Bergeron, Jakob Krislynn Joel and Kloie Salazar; great-great-grandchildren, Ivan James Nolan, Waylon James Nolan, Joseph and Jazmin Toups and Wyatt Bishop.
She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs Ida is preceded in death by her parents Marie Chapman, and Ernest Fontenot; her loving son, Andrew James Nolan; her brothers, Henry Lee Chapman, Presley Chapman and Walter Chapman Sr.; and one sister, Rose Menard. Also going before her was her grandson Laris Joseph Nolan III.
Serving as pallbearers were Jakob Salazar, Joel Salazar, Joey Gautheraux Jr., Michael Toups, Lee John III and Trey James Nolan.
