Gardy Abshire Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Gardy Abshire, Sr., 88, of Crowley will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 1 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel, Rayne. Interment will follow in Abshire Cemetery, Kaplan.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home, Rayne.
Mr. Abshire passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017 in a Crowley health care facility.
Mr. Abshire was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Korea during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his sons, Charles Abshire, Gardy Abshire, Jr., Lawrence Abshire, Wade Dartez and wife Romona of Crowley, and Oneil Dartez and wife, Pam of Crowley; daughters, Kay Laviolette, Audrey Houston, Florence Abshire Lucille Dartez of Crowley, and Melina Robinson and husband, Kevin of Maxie; brothers, Wallace Abshire of Lake Charles, and Chester Abshire of Port Barre; sister, Lena Guillory and husband, James of Lake Charles; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Preceding Mr. Abshire in death were his wife, Delta Broussard Abshire; parents, Exavia Abshire and Edith Richard Abshire; sons, Carl Abshire and Patrick Abshire; brother, Walter Abshire; and sisters, Mary Abshire, Laura Abshire and Lovinia Daigle.
