Jones said the students “have really taken” to the program. He explained that teachers distribute “Star Bucks” to the students as rewards and, those Bucks add up until the student can use them to “purchase” a token for a book in the machine. “It’s replaced candy as a reward,” Jones said. “That’s surprised a lot of us.”
An overturned tractor-trailer rig closed the I-10 East bound exit ramp at La. 92 in Duson early Monday morning.
As of 1 a.m. early Tuesday morning, the exit ramp was re-opened.

The Crowley Art Association recently hosted an Art Gala to celebrate the work of artist Lauren Daigle. Guests enjoyed wine and refreshments and the opportunity to meet Daigle and view her work.
