With Mardi Gras fast approaching, the City of Crowley is gearing up for the 20th annual Carnival d’Acadie — the city of Crowley’s Fat Tuesday celebration.
A request to call a special 10-mill tax election on May 9 to fund construction of a new Acadia-St. Landry Hospital in Church Point was put on hold Tuesday night.
Officers were sworn in and plan for an upcoming parish promotional tour were discussed when the Acadia Parish Tourist Commission met in regular session here Thursday morning.
The hot-button topic of sewer user fees became a lengthy, and sometimes contested discussion item yet again when the Crowley City Council met in regular session here Wednesday.
