The annual International Rice Festival Rice and Creole Cookery Contest was held Friday, Oct. 18, and saw a total of 154 dishes entered.

Early voting for the Nov. 16 general (run-off) elections will begin Saturday, Nov. 2, and continue through Saturday, Nov. 9, with the exception of Sunday, Nov. 3.
