Shots fired at Rayne residence over weekend

Rayne Police Chief Carroll J. Stelly announced that his office is investigating two separate shooting incidents that occurred over a 24 hour period this weekend.
On Saturday, May 12, Rayne Police officers responded at 9:42 p.m. of multiple shots fired into a residence on the 500 block of Holt Avenue in Rayne. No one was injured in the incident.
Gun shots were again reported on the 500 block of Holt Avenue on Sunday, May 13, at 2:47 p.m. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Both crime scenes were processed by detectives and evidence was recovered, all of which was submitted to the Acadiana Crime Lab for analysis and comparison.
Detectives are asking that anyone who may be a witness to the crimes or have information, contact Rayne Police at 334-4215 or Crimestoppers of Acadia Parish 789-TIPS- 789-8477. Callers will remain anonymous and could receive up to a $1,000 cash reward.
