Frogland USA to seek financing

In first quarter of 2009

Developer Tom Nolan of Baton Rouge advised Rayne city officials that the Roux Acadiana project would seek to finalize financing in the first quarter of 2009.
Roux Acadiana, which includes Frogland USA Water Park and Entertainment Complex, is a 170 acre year round regional destination located in Rayne. The master plan calls for a combination of indoor and outdoor entertainment. The seven primary zones of family entertainment consist of:
1. Water park;
2. Family Entertainment Indoor Attractions;
3. Family Entertainment Outdoor Attractions;
4. Open Air Amphitheatre;
5. Tennis Center;
6. Hospitality and Food Service; and
7. Retail and Commercial Venues.
Nolan advised Mayor James Petitjean that despite the national challenges in commercial financing it appears likely that financing will be available next year through a combination of additional equity and pre-sale of commercial real estate. Nolan went on to say that the market for family entertainment remained strong and with the addition of a movie theater, bowling, and RV park amenities, the project will draw families looking to optimize their entertainment and recreational expenditures. A recent study by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette marketing students projected that the property will sell more than 700,000 tickets to the Frogland water park in its first year of operation.
The Roux Acadiana project welcomes any developers interested in hotels, restaurants, retail centers, health spa, bowling, tennis, RV park, movie theater and other commercial interests to discuss concepts. Contact Tom Nolan at 225-288-6411.
