Opera returns to PASA series with the Gershwin classic ‘Porgy and Bess’

Lafayette, La- Summertime comes early to Lafayette when the Performing Arts Society of Acadiana (PASA) brings the love and squalor of Catfish Row to the Heymann Performing Arts Center in the George Gershwin masterpiece Porgy and Bess. In celebration of the 75th anniversary of George Gershwin’s enduring masterpiece, a new production of Porgy and Bess was mounted—with the full approval of the Gershwin estate—by veteran opera producer Michael Capasso (General Director of New York’s vibrant Dicapo Opera). The tour will stop in Lafayette at 7:30 p.m.
