A contest held at all Shop Rite and Tobacco Plus locations during 2009 has ended with Marie Habetz of Rayne being awarded the grand prize.  As the grand prize winner, Habetz received $1,500 in gas gift cards, good for use at any Shop Rite or Tobacco Plus location, at a ceremony at Shop Rite #35 in Rayne on Friday, Feb. 5.
As part of the contest, which was sponsored by Coca Cola, Shop Rite/Tobacco Plus held monthly drawings for gift cards at all their stores throughout 2009 from entries submitted by customers.  All entries were then entered into a pool and were eligible for the grand prize, won by Habetz.
The monthly gas card giveaway will continue in 2010 at all Shop Rite/Tobacco Plus locations. The Shop Rite/Tobacco Plus Group is the largest independently owned convenience store chain in Louisiana, offering fuel, food, payday loans, home supplies and convenience items to customers.  Their 59 locations range from Cutoff to Many to Vinton in Southwest Louisiana.
