During a special program held Tuesday morning at Rayne High School, an Arbor Day ceremony was hosted by members of the Rayne Garden Club.
Garden Club members in attendance were Hazel Prevost, Lisa Soileaux, Judy Guidry, Ruth McBride and Ethel Leger.
Students of the Rayne High ag department assisting in planting a southern magnolia were Billy Thibodeaux, Scott Curtis, Jacob Stelly, Ben LeBlanc, Cody Bergeron, MaRae Courvelle and Kristen Petitjean, as instructed by ag instructor Allen Miller.
Donating the magnolia was Nick Simoneaux, owner/operator of Complete Lawn Care, the tree from his local nusery, Complete Garden Center.
The magnolia was planted on the front lawn of the school’s main office building, an added tree addition to complete the campus landscape.
Many thanks to Nick Simoneaux, advisor Allen Miller and his students, and the Rayne Garden Club for enhancing the Rayne High School landscape by providing another Arbor Day donation to a local school.
